Ginger is a 6-year-old poodle with a sweet personality and a strong spirit. She also happens to be blind, but that hasn’t stopped her from living a full and happy life with the person who loves her most, her mom.
Recently, though, Ginger’s health took a turn. She began having nosebleeds, and it quickly became clear that something was seriously wrong.

Ginger was suffering from severe dental disease. It had become so advanced that it was causing bleeding and discomfort that no pet should have to endure. Her quality of life was declining, and it was clear she needed extensive dental work to feel better.
But the cost of treatment was more than her mom could afford. Faced with a heartbreaking decision, she worried about how to give Ginger the care she desperately needed.
That’s where the Locke A. Taylor Compassion Project came in. We were able to provide financial assistance to help cover a portion of Ginger’s dental procedure. This support gave her mom the ability to move forward with the treatment, knowing she wasn’t alone in trying to care for her best friend.
Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, Ginger received the dental care she needed. No more bleeding, no more pain. Just a chance to get back to feeling like herself again.
Dental disease doesn’t just affect a pet’s mouth;it affects their entire body and overall well-being. And for pets like Ginger, who already live with other challenges, even small improvements in comfort can make a world of difference.
We’re honored to have played a part in Ginger’s recovery and grateful to the donors who make it possible to say “yes” when a pet needs help the most.
