The Locke A. Taylor Compassion Project, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Henrico County, was founded in August 2024 to carry on Dr. Taylor’s legacy of compassionate care. After his passing, many hoped his tradition of helping animals and their owners would continue.
This foundation was created to make that hope a reality by supporting pet owners who are struggling financially to provide their pets with necessary medical treatment.
In veterinary medicine, it’s not uncommon for pets to need unexpected care that exceeds their family’s financial means; whether it’s an emergency situation that requires medical or surgical treatment, or an ongoing long-term condition that requires continuous medical management that falls outside of the household budget; these situations can leave families feeling helpless and it is our mission to continue Dr. Taylor’s legacy of “taking care of both ends of the leash”.
The Locke A. Taylor Compassion Project steps in to ease this financial and emotional burden, ensuring pets receive the best possible care. With the generous support of our community—those who consider themselves part of the Locke Taylor “family”—we can uphold Dr. Taylor’s mission of compassion, caring for both pets and the people who love them.
